Now the truth is known. → twitter.com

You still think this is about jobs?

You still think this is about debt?

You still think this is about the nation’s credit rating?

WRONG. WRONG.

This is about impeaching Obama. Don’t kid yourself. It was the plan from Day. Fucking. One.

Now we know.

Why Michelle Bachmann has migraines:

Me: Is it true that taxes are too high? Bachman: Yes!

Me: Is it true that 47% of Americans don’t pay federal taxes? Bachmann: Yes!

Me: That would mean taxes are too low, wouldn’t it? Bachmann: Ow, my head. I need to lie down …

The Road Not Taken → nytimes.com

As much as I disagree with Brooks on ideology, his analysis of the Tea Party wing of the Republican party is penetrating.

Being “uncompromising” in one’s principles is admirable - until it becomes apparent that one’s only principle is to be uncompromising. Then it’s just stupid. The GOP forgot the first rule of strategy: don’t pursue short-term gain over achieving your long-range goals. Which is good for the Dems, they don’t have to swallow Obama’s over-compromises.
